The LIAISE COST Action (CA22110) has launched its calls for trainees and trainers for the Third LIAISE Training School, “From Mapping to Implementation — Designing Viable Industrial Symbiosis Networks”, taking place on 9–11 February 2027 in Istanbul, Türkiye.
Hosted by Bahçeşehir University, Faculty of Economic, Administrative and Social Sciences, and CIFAL Istanbul–UNITAR, this three-day programme will explore how to turn Industrial Symbiosis opportunities into practical, viable solutions.
Through expert-led sessions, practical exercises and collaborative group work, participants will explore three interconnected themes:
- Mapping the territory and identifying opportunities: context analysis, resource mapping, AI-supported synergy identification and practical applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Designing safe, sustainable and collaborative solutions: stakeholder engagement, facilitation, Safe and Sustainable by Design principles, and environmental assessment.
- Building the business case and planning implementation: economic feasibility, business models, technical and regulatory requirements, and network governance.
Working on a shared practical case, participants will develop an Industrial Symbiosis implementation roadmap, bringing together the approaches explored throughout the programme.
