On 22 and 23 September, the LIAISE COST Action CA22110 held its final in-person meeting of the third Grant Period at the University of Malta, bringing together members of the Core Group and Working Groups for two days of intensive work, strategic discussion and forward planning.
The meeting provided an important opportunity to review the progress achieved during the third Grant Period and to coordinate the final steps needed to close the remaining activities and deliverables. Particular attention was given to the pending deliverables of Working Group 3, which are expected to be completed by the end of October. Partners discussed the current status of the work, remaining tasks and responsibilities, ensuring a clear roadmap for the coming weeks.
Beyond the immediate reporting and deliverable deadlines, the meeting also marked the beginning of the planning process for the final year of the Action. Discussions focused on how to consolidate the results achieved so far, strengthen the visibility and use of LIAISE outputs, and ensure that the knowledge, tools and collaborations developed within the network continue to generate impact beyond the lifetime of the COST Action.
A key topic throughout the meeting was the exploitation and legacy of LIAISE. After three years of activity, the Action has generated significant results in the field of Industrial Symbiosis, including scientific outputs, training activities, webinars, podcasts, mobility and networking grants, policy-oriented contributions, digital tools and a growing European community of researchers, practitioners and stakeholders.
The final year of LIAISE will therefore be focused on bringing these results together, increasing their dissemination and uptake, and reinforcing the long-term value of the network. The meeting in Malta represented an important step in this direction, helping partners to align priorities and define the next stages of work.
