Join us in this initiative of LIAISE COST Action focused on Young Researchers!
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the LIAISE COST Action Young Researcher Programme. COST Actions are designed to be inclusive, ensuring broad geographic participation, promoting gender balance, and fostering the involvement of young researchers. Our LIAISE Action fully embodies these principles by integrating young researchers into the very fabric of our network through this newly launched programme.
The Young Researcher Programme is a critical initiative aimed at nurturing the next generation of scholars and experts within our Action. By empowering young researchers, we are not only expanding the reach and impact of our network but also ensuring that fresh ideas and innovative perspectives are continuously brought to the table.
We are proud to introduce the coordinators for this programme:
- Eda Orhun from Bulgaria, an Associate Professor of Finance at the American University in Bulgaria since 2022. Eda brings a wealth of experience from her previous role as an Associate (and earlier, Assistant) Professor of Finance and Course Coordinator at Zayed University, where she served from 2012 to 2022. Eda’s academic journey began in Vienna, and she has since built a distinguished career, with over 22 publications to her name. Her leadership in this programme will undoubtedly inspire and guide young researchers within our network.
- Taner Sar from Sweden, who currently works with Bioextrax AB in Lund, Sweden, since 2024. Taner completed his postdoctoral studies at the University of Borås, Sweden, and has a robust research portfolio focusing on the recovery of nutrients from food processing wastes and by-products, microbial production, and the extraction of bioactive compounds with antimicrobial and antibiofilm properties. With over 77 publications, and his involvement in several national and international journals’ editorial and advisory boards, Taner’s expertise and commitment will greatly benefit the young researchers in our Action.

We encourage all young researchers and potential mentors to stay informed about the various activities and opportunities that will be promoted through this programme. Together, we can build a vibrant and dynamic community that supports growth, innovation, and collaboration.
Don’t miss out—join us in this exciting journey and contribute to the future of our LIAISE Action. Stay tuned for updates on upcoming events, workshops, and networking opportunities that will be available through the Young Researcher Programme. Let’s work together to create a lasting impact!
