The first in-person LIAISE COST Action workshop with stakeholders took place on 22th February at Sunrise Tech Park in Vilnius (Lithuania)
In a recent workshop titled “Industrial Symbiosis – Are You Aware of Its Possibilities?” organized by the LIAISE COST Action, participants were treated to an enriching session delving into the intricacies of Circular Economy principles and the practical applications of Industrial Symbiosis. Hosted by Dr. Laima Balčiūnė, CEO of Sunrise Tech Valley and representative of LIAISE COST Action, the event attracted more than 50 distinguished experts from academia and business domains, all focused on advancing the cause of sustainable industrial practices.
Throughout the presentations, attendees gained valuable theoretical insights into the concepts of Circular Economy and Industrial Symbiosis. Speakers shared real-life case studies showcasing the successful implementation of industrial symbiosis practices in various business and municipal settings. These presentations emphasized the importance of collaboration, system thinking, interdisciplinarity, and innovative business/activity models in accelerating the adoption of industrial symbiosis.
The event served as a platform for knowledge exchange and networking, enabling participants to deepen their understanding of industrial symbiosis and its transformative potential. Attendees were also provided with informational leaflets dedicated to industrial symbiosis, further enhancing their learning experience.
