The gathering of renowned sustainability experts from across Europe at our second general meeting underscores the global importance of advancing circularity and sustainable practices.
We are thrilled to share highlights from the second general meeting of the COST Action LIAISE, held on April 23rd, 24th, and 25th in Alicante. This international gathering brought together leading professionals in sustainability and circularity from across Europe.
The event kicked off on April 23rd in Alicante with the plenary session of the Core Group, where we assessed the achievements of the first six months of the project and set the course for upcoming actions.
Later that afternoon, the Management Committee convened to discuss critical management aspects such as budget utilization and the integration of new members into the action.
On April 24th, the Working Group sessions commenced at CETEM’s facilities. These sessions featured in-depth discussions on the technical objectives of each group, highlighting the progress made thus far. Participants also had the privilege of visiting Sancal Diseño, a pioneering company in sustainability and circularity within the furniture sector.
Concluding on April 25th at the Alicante Scientific Park, the second Working Group session attracted nearly a hundred attendees. This day offered insights into the sustainable and symbiotic potential of the industry and scientific community in the Alicante region, identifying synergies and opportunities with international LIAISE partners. Additionally, we tackled future barriers and challenges in Industrial Symbiosis, seeking solutions based on LIAISE’s outcomes.
The engagement and dedication shown at this meeting underscore the commitment of our network to advancing sustainability and circularity.
